Year of the Affiliate Review

by Tom McEwin on 6 May, 2010

One of the hardest things about starting a new endeavour is knowing precisely where to begin, and a little bit of knowledge can save a lot of time and effort.  The book which started me on my affiliate marketing journey was Year of the Affiliate, written by a fellow named Sean Rasmussen.

Year of the Affiliate outlines a number of different ways to make money working online and provides an excellent introduction for anyone wanting to learn internet marketing.  It comes in both a free version and a paid version.  I recommend that anyone who is even remotely curious about internet marketing, or may be looking to earn some extra money online should at least check out the free version.

Who is Sean Rasmussen?

Sean Rasmussen is an Australian internet marketer, who has some serious experience in this area:

  • He started internet marketing in 2004, with very little knowledge  of the internet;
  • He sold $7 million in affiliate products between 2004 and 2008; and
  • He developed strategies enabling him to earn over $100,000 per month online.

Sean has a great ability to explain technical concepts in a straight forward manner that is easy to understand.  The techniques that Sean recommends are all legitimate ‘white hat’ strategies to make money working online, and stay well away from anything which even remotely look like a scam.

The Ebook – Year of the Affiliate Review

The full version of Year of the Affiliate is 257 pages long and comes with a 30 day satisfaction guarantee.  The book itself is jam packed with tips on choosing affiliate products and promoting them using:

  • articles;
  • classifieds sites;
  • social media (squidoo, hubpages, myspace, facebook, blog catalogue, ryze, youtube);
  • bookmarking sites (, digg, stumbleupon, twitter);
  • blogs; and
  • websites.

There are so many different options which Sean covers that I expect most readers will be able to find strategies that are to their liking.  This ebook is definitely suitable for beginners and doesn’t assume any existing knowledge when explaining the key concepts.

Get the First Half of Year of the Affiliate for Free

As much as I could go into further detail regarding what is in Year of the Affiliate, if you are potentially interested in what Sean has to say then you are better off just getting a copy of the free version, which comprises the first 130-odd pages.  It makes for an excellent read, even if you don’t end getting the full version.

There is no obligation to purchase, no need to provide credit card details, and all you need to do is fill in your first name and email address and a customised link to the free part will be emailed to you.

This really reduces the risk involved for those looking to learn about internet marketing.  With such a fantastic opportunity, I recommend at least having a look at the free portion of Year of the Affiliate now. I don’t know if Sean will be dropping this offer in future, but I suggest getting your copy immediately.

In some of my future posts I’ll be looking at how to make money working online using two of the strategies that are explained in the free version of Year of the Affiliate, being article marketing and classified ad sites.

Hi Tom,

Nice enthusiastic review. Sean’s Year of the Affiliate book provides a great understanding of online fundamentals. There are many similar ebooks online – many of these not delivering on their promised value. Sean’s is one ebook you can count on.

Thanks for your comments David and Belinda. Sean definitely knows his stuff, and how to get others started, regardless of their existing knowledge.
