I like your thinking! I agree that there is a lot of conditioning regarding the need to work hard to ‘earn’ money. A common belief seems to be that if there isn’t hard word involved then money hasn’t been rightfully earned. I think it is important to focus on the value created, rather than the effort expended.

This doesn’t mean that there won’t be hard work involved, particularly at the beginning. But hopefully things will get to a point where the same amount of effort isn’t required, and lifestyle (however it is described) can improve as a result.

So great to be reading your blog! I have recently been reading The 4 hour work week by Tim Ferris and you don’t even need to buy it! Just get it from your local library. Because you work full time, it might really help you.

I am a believer in working smart for your money, not hard. We have been raised to believe that we need to work hard to have what we want but that is a mindset. It is true that you may need to put in the hard yards at the start of a project but the idea would be to reap the rewards without continued hard work so you can enjoy that lifestyle you aspire to.

Cherie – I agree it is great to have goals, otherwise it is easy to lose sight of things and get lost in routine.

I like goals and dreams as it makes me feel good whilst I am thinking of my future now, it also gives me purpose and direction in my life. Feeling good about this now and in the future is pretty cool. Especially whilst I am listening to the guitar rift in your song.
